The Role

We’re looking for a Backend Engineer who can design and build scalable systems from the ground up. This role is for someone who understands not just coding, but how systems behave under load, scale, and evolve over time.

You’ll work on high-performance backend services, data-intensive applications, and distributed systems powering real-world use cases.

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop high-performance backend services using Node.js
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and GraphQL services
• Architect and implement microservices and event-driven systems
• Optimize PostgreSQL databases (schema design, indexing, query tuning, scaling)
• Work with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Pub/Sub
• Deploy and manage services on AWS (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFront)
• Collaborate on system design, performance optimization, and reliability improvements
• Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in Node.js (must-have)
• 4+ years experience in Node.js (primary), Java and Golang
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL internals and performance tuning
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with event-driven systems or message queues
• Exposure to AWS or GCP cloud environments
• Familiarity with GraphQL (preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience with Java or Go is a plus
• Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work in fast-paced environments

Bonus Points

• Experience building high-scale systems (10K+ users or high throughput)
• Knowledge of caching strategies (Redis, CDN layers)
• Understanding of observability (logs, metrics, tracing)
• Prior work in startup or fast-growth environments
