Founding Backend Engineer (Fintech / AI) - India

AutoCash.ai is building an AI-powered cash management platform for CFOs and finance teams.

We are looking for a sharp, high-energy Backend Engineer who can move fast and build production systems end-to-end. You will help build the backend foundation of our product, design scalable systems, manage data-heavy workflows, and improve the infrastructure that powers AI-driven finance automation.

You will work on real problems for the office of the CFO, including cash forecasting, transaction classification, reconciliation, working capital analytics, collections insights, and intelligent finance workflows. If you enjoy building from first principles, working close to the product, and owning systems end-to-end, this role will suit you well.

What You'll Do· Build backend systems and AI workflows for CFO operations (cash forecasting, transaction classification, reconciliation, anomaly detection, working capital insights)

· Develop and maintain scalable REST APIs and backend services

· Work with SQL/NoSQL databases to model and process financial data

· Integrate with ERPs, banks, payment gateways, and external data sources

· Write clean, reliable production code and troubleshoot issues in live systems

· Contribute to architecture, CI/CD, and engineering best practices

What We're Looking ForMust-Have· B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science from a strong engineering school (e.g., IIT, NIT, IIIT, BITS or equivalent)

· 3+ years of professional experience in backend engineering

· Strong coding skills in Python, Java, or Node.js

· Solid understanding of REST APIs, data modeling, and system design

· Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and NoSQL databases (MongoDB or Redis)

· Familiarity with AWS, Linux, and Git workflows

· Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and core computer science fundamentals

Good to Have· Experience with message queues such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or SQS

· Exposure to ML model deployment, agent frameworks, or data pipelines

· Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments

· Experience with event-driven or distributed architectures

· Prior experience in fintech, BFSI, or other data-intensive product environments

· Contributions to open-source projects or strong personal engineering projects
