Job Summary: As a Senior Software Engineer (Java react), you will play a critical role in building, evolving, and scaling high-quality software systems. You will work hands-on with Java-based backend systems, influence technical direction, and help establish best engineering practices while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong Java expertise, sound engineering judgment, and a passion for building reliable, maintainable, and scalable systems. Advocate and advance modern software development practices and help develop and promote great engineering and organizational practices. Work with people in other parts of the organization to promote improvements, goals, and roadmaps. Work hands-on to demonstrate techniques and model good practice, and to remain grounded in the problems faced by team members, in building and shipping high-quality code at a sustainable pace. Work with engineers, product owners, and designers. Contribute to the growth of our development capability. Own and improve the internal quality of our system. You have 5+ years of experience working hands-on as a Software Engineer in an agile environment, being well-versed in agile and lean principles, and experienced at the continuous delivery of value. You provide impact rather than output, while positioning the system for future enhancement. You understand the impact of process and code quality. You create technical options, especially in code and system interactions. You actively invest in your technical skills. You can mentor your peers, contributing to a learning culture that can create high-quality software at a sustainable pace. What you bring to the team: Backend Development Skills Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles Experience with Spring / Spring Boot for building RESTful APIs Understanding of microservices architecture and API integration Experience with ORM frameworks (e.g., Hibernate/JPA) Good knowledge of database design, SQL, and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) Ability to write performant, secure, and maintainable backend code Frontend Development Skills Strong experience with React and modern JavaScript (ES6+) Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI development Experience with frontend state management (e.g., Redux, Context API) Familiarity with component-based architecture and reusable UI patterns Understanding of frontend performance optimization and accessibility basics Testing & Quality Engineering Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, and/or component testing) Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Jest, React Testing Library) Understanding of test-driven development (TDD) and continuous testing practices Strong focus on code quality, maintainability, and refactoring DevOps & Tooling Experience working in a CI/CD environment Familiarity with build and version control tools (e.g., Maven/Gradle, Git) Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) is a plus Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is preferred Understanding of 12-factor application principles Engineering & Ways of Working Strong understanding of Agile and Lean principles Experience working in cross-functional, collaborative teams Ability to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues across the stack Understanding of evolutionary design and continuous improvement Exposure to Extreme Programming (XP) practices is a bonus Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity is a plus Why join us?
